Ever opened the letterbox to find something just for you, in someone's own handwriting? That little thrill is what this club is all about.
Over six Wednesday afternoons, you'll craft your own beautiful stationery - think calligraphy, collage, stamp-printing and more - and become pen pals with an older friend in aged care. You'll swap stories, share your favourites, ask the big questions, and discover how much you have in common with someone from a whole different generation. (Fair warning: they have the best stories.)
No screens, no pressure. Just good craft, good company, and the quiet magic of a handwritten letter.

Why it matters: teenagers and older Australians were two of the groups hit hardest by loneliness in the wake of COVID-19 (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 2026). A few kind letters can genuinely help. And putting pen to paper is good for you too — handwriting is linked to sharper focus, memory and communication (NLM, 2025).
So come along, make a new friend, learn a new craft, and help revive a beautiful old skill. ✨
